||||||||||

In Los Angeles, there’s never a shortage of things to do. With a thriving culinary scene, a plethora of fabulous museums and limitless outdoor activities, you’re truly never at a loss.

And with practically perfect year-round weather and a culture rounded in cinema, it’s no wonder L.A boasts some of the best outdoor movie screening series around. For those who love movies as much as they love their four -legged friends, a night at the movies just got even better.

Eat|See|Hear is a pup-friendly outdoor movie screening series with iconic flicks running from May to October all around the Los Angeles area.

Launched in 2012 by with Jeff and Sharon Sperber of Trailhead Marketing (who are proud pup parents themselves to a pooch named Jersey Discofries!), the series has been dog friendly from the start.

“People really like to hang out with their dogs and do stuff with them,” Sharon says. “This way, you get to go out and do something fun with your friends and bring your furry BFF with you to enjoy the day and evening.”

With venues ranging from Griffith Park to Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, movie-loving folks all over L.A can attend (with Toto in tow.).

The movie capital of the world deserves a world-class outdoor movie event that everyone can enjoy, so just how does Eat|See|Hear par with regards to quality? It’s not too shabby. Every movie is shown on an outdoor inflatable screen, measuring three stories tall and 52-feet wide — the largest out there, according to the Sperbers. And the sound is customized for this special event.

“The sound is calibrated specifically for the film using line array so there is no delay or echo,” Jeff adds, “We have a professional sound engineer mix each band – even a few who have gone on to play Coachella.”

And while the movie aspect is surely a hit, the food trucks are right up there. These outdoor screenings feature a curated line up of food trucks including vegetarian options on rotation. With nearly 100, your palate (and your pups’) will always be satisfied. Dessert person? You and your four-legged sidekick are in luck. Delight Cupcakery brings “pupcakes” (doggie cupcakes) and Coolhaus Ice Cream truck usually has a dog flavor available, too.

Wondering what to bring? It’s simple! Jeff and Sharon encourage their guests to bring blankets or chairs, personal water bowls, dinner, a few treats and something to keep your little furry guy busy during the film. “Though, when it gets dark, most of the pups tend to doze off and snuggle up with their people,” Sharon says.

The cost for a ticket ranges from $5 to $21. A portion of the ticket sales each year goes to Best Friends Animal Society Los Angeles’s (No Kill Los Angeles) initiative.

In 2013, Showtime joined the series as the official presenting sponsor, promoting various series throughout the Eat|See|Hear season with trailers that run on-screen before the film begins.
