||

The bone broth trend has seeped into the world of dogs. Everything from dog biscuits to supplements and dog food are getting the bone-broth treatment.

And no wonder.

The superfood is not only inexpensive but benefits your pup in so many ways, including helping with joints and maintaining a health digestion system.

And now This Dog’s Life has created some super easy (and yummy!) bone broth gummies for your dog. Our bone broth gummies can be made using beets, parsley or turmeric – or all three. The little-bite size treats are great for training or just giving your pup a small snack during the day.

Keep in mind, because these are gummies, they do melt. So, it is best to keep them refrigerated. They last between 1-2 weeks, but would check on them after 5 days, as sometimes moisture can interact with the bears.

Bone Broth Gummy Bears

RECIPE
Makes 100 bears

Ingredients
½ beet, handful parsley leaves or pinch turmeric
1 envelope unflavored gelatin

Puree the beet or parsley on high with just enough cool water to liquify them (about 1-2 teaspoons.) Strain the liquid and discard solids.

If using turmeric, stir into with a tablespoon cool water to make yellow coloring.

In a small bowl, stir together 1 tablespoon of the vegetable liquid with the pack of gelatin and let soften, about 5 minutes.

Heat the ½ cup broth in a small pot over medium heat until steaming. Remove from the heat, and stir in the softened gelatin to completely dissolve it.

Working on a level surface, fill the bear molds up to the top. Tap the molds to release any air bubbles. Chill until firm, about 1 hour.

Keeps refrigerated about 1-2 weeks.

Bone Broth

DIRECTIONS
Makes 1 quart bone broth

To make bone broth, combine the water with the bones in a slow cooker and cook on high overnight or 12 to 24 hours. Strain liquid and discard bones. Cool broth, discard the fat and reserve the bone broth. If you do not have time to make bone broth, you can buy bone broth at the store. Just make sure it is low sodium.
