An Indian woman turned down an arranged marriage after the man said he wasn’t I to her dog.

From Bangalore and now living in Gurgaon as an analyst, Karishma Walia was set to walk down the aisle with a New Delhi man from an upper-class family, when an issue arose. The man was not okay with Walia’s dog. It wasn’t just him that wasn’t down with the dog, but his mother wasn’t into a four-legged companion.

“I don’t want a dog to come in between my love life and not share the same bed…That’s for sure…And my mom doesn’t like dogs in general…” the man writes in a text exchange.

This is when Walia decided a wedding is not in the cards for the couple.

Her now ex-soon-to-be-husband replied, “Are you sure about your decision. It might be a temporary phase in your life when you like dogs. We are talking about your life here.”

Shocked, Walia, writes, “. Having a dog is definitely not a temporary phase. I can’t abandon my dog for Anyone.”

You go, girl.
