With ‘Disco Dog,’ Your Pup Is the Life of the Party

Share
A Disco Dog dachshund is sporting a vibrant LED vest.

At first glance Disco Dog seems like it can make your pup the life of the party – and well, it kind of does.

Brought to us by New York City-based PARTY, the LED Vest lights up with the few buttons from an app on your phone. Controlled entirely by a smartphone, owners can type messages the scrawl across the vest, or change the lights depending on the mood and the situation. Or create designs like sparkles, stripes and fireflies. While that is neat, Disco Dog caught our eye for its real-life use.

Strap the vest on your pup and we are pretty sure no one will miss him when you are walking at night or are in dimly-lit areas. Plus, if the dog gets away, there is a “Lost Dog” feature that will literally show the words “lost dog,” if your pup wanders out of range from your phone.

Currently, the product is in beta phase — with only 80 vests available — and is being offered on crowdfunding site Kickstarter. The price tag? Between 300 and 400 bones.

While the product is still in the early stages, the team is already thinking of future applications including using it for service dogs and making it waterproof.
