Yoriko Hamachiyo is no ordinary dog groomer. As the owner of Yorikoro in Japan for the last six years, Hamachiyo primps dogs like they are going to the Oscars.

Posting her styles on Instagram, Hamachiyo’s work includes dogs having a flawless round haircut, those with funky styles and others with looks fit for puppy royalty.

While the cuts are so perfect they look a bit fake, Hamachiyo tells us a lot of time goes into the grooming sessions, with the biggest challenge being ensuring both sides are even. “I try to pay attention to the detail,” she says through a translator, adding that an amazing shampoo is a necessity for a great cut.

Hamachiyo got her start in another salon, where she trained for five years before taking an exam by the Japan Kennel Club to become a qualified dog groomer. Her favorite dog to style is the poodle (and her own, a pup named Goma gets practiced on a lot), but she grooms all kinds of breeds, including Chihuahuas, Yorkies and Pomeranians.

To get these perfectly coiffed looks, Hamachiyo focuses on keeping the dog calm throughout the experience.

The result? A stunning dog and a very happy owner.
