Get your bowling shoes out, because next week Animal Care Centers of NYC is having a bowling benefit for pit bulls.

Fittingly called “Pit Bowl” the event will take place on well-known Lucky Strikes in Manhattan on Feb. 9. Besides bowling for a great cause, guest will enjoy appetizers, raffle prizes, pool and Ping Pong.

Individual bowling ticket prices are $40, while full lanes (up to 10 bowlers) str $400. There are also non-bowling “cheerleader” tickets for $35 and various VIP and sponsorship packages.

There are three time slots — 7, 8 and 9 pm — for individuals, or teams, to bowl, but because this event is so popular, the only slot left is the last one for single players. (There are also cheerleader tickets still available.)

This is the fourth year the ACC has put on the event and besides raising money for the nonprofit, it raises awareness for the breed.

“All kinds of dogs come through our doors, but many are pit bull-type dogs, which unfortunately tend to have a hard time finding new homes due to misinformation and ignorance,” says Alexandra Silver, communications associate for ACC. “This event is an opportunity to introduce the public to some amazing pit bull ambassadors, and encourage people to see pit bulls for what they really are — individuals who very often make great companion animals.”

Proceeds from the event will go directly towards helping the animals in the ACC’s care.

If you want to play, you better buy tickets right away. Here is where you can purchase tickets.
