The dog known for giving hugs is looking for a few hugs of her own.

Nicknamed “the hugging dog” for her affectionate embraces, golden retriever Louboutina and her owner were walking on Christmas day when a fire swept through their building.

He realized his apartment had been damaged, with his ceiling caving on his kitchen and bedroom. He lost everything and now he, along with Louboutina, are homeless.

Firefighters arrived shortly after the fire started.  “As you can imagine with the weather today, wind, I think did play a factor with the spread of this fire,” FDNY Division 1 Deputy Chief Thomas Currao, told the outlet.

Fortunately, there were only two minor injuries.

“I’m just happy that Loubie and I were safe,” he said.
