Some people are really hard to shop for, but everyone (hopefully) has that one person who is the easiest to cross of the gift list: “the dog lover.”
Dog lovers are great, because if you show them anything remotely related to anything canine THEY WILL LOVE IT! Just looking at the list compiled below, there is not one thing that is an absolute necessity but you better believe dog owners will be squealing with excitement upon receiving any one of them. If none of these grab you, just frame a postcard of a sleeping bulldog, because if someone doesn’t care for a gift like that they just don’t need to be in your life, trust me.
1. Vans X ASPCA Authentic $55
Vans teamed up with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA) to bring you collaged cats and dogs for their slip-on and authentic design sneakers. Also available in kids sizes, which, if offered 20 years ago, could have completed the childhood look of all animal graphics, all the time, head to toe. A portion of sales will benefit the rescue organization.
2. Threshold Bulldog Cookie Jar $19.99
Most reasonable pet owners would stock this thing with dog biscuits for when their beloved pooch is in need of a tasty treat, but who says you can’t stock it with your own cookies, then bringing it into bed to snuggle up during Netflix marathons?
3. Dog Bone Paperweight $68
This paperweight would be perfect for securing the many adoption forms, microchip documents, spay/neuter certificates and dog licensing paperwork any dog lover dutifully keep around for their pup. Important documents such as Passport and birth certificate can still be shoved in some drawer you likely won’t remember.
4. Good Dog Milk Bottle Vase $36
This vase is a simple and beautifully understated gift for the dog lover or dog owner in your life. If presenting to a new puppy parent, remember to fill with strong alcoholic beverage before gifting.

5. Dog Tails Wall Hooks $24.95
If anyone had four cast iron dog butts to come home to and hang their stuff on, the world would have WAY less piles of coats and umbrellas lying all over everyone’s home. At a foot long and four inches tall, this sturdy fixture is delicately sized so not to give the appearance of four giant dog asses mounted by your front door.
6. Dog Lamp $300
OK, this is pretty high up there on the price point for gift giving but, “If you loved her you would!” There are simply not enough good things to say about this lamp, as the only thing funnier than “dog in cone” is “dog confused by blanket on head”, so this is just a total home run. The only con would be the existential low you will hit every time you realize the dog’s head is just a light bulb 🙁
7. Sausage Dog Leash $15.99
If you were to gift this to any dachshund owner you would surely be their favorite person ever not to mention the endless amounts of joy that will be brought to every passerby on this dog’s street. You would be giving the gift of love to the entire world, essentially.
8. The Dog Park Umbrella $39.95
Gift giving checklist: Does she like dogs? Does she not enjoy getting rain on her head? SCORE! This is just a really practical gift that anyone would use (even the cat people.)
9. Verameat Gold Brass Chihuahua Ring $48
This NYC-based brand is easily one of the more dog-friendly companies around and that’s saying a lot considering sharing an elevator with a poodle in a stroller is not an uncommon occurrence in New York City. Using recycled silver and 14K gold, many of their designs are animal-inspired and beautifully unique.
10. Wheelhouse Designs Dog Socks $10.95
207 designs. That’s every dog breed, plus an extra 100 completely made up ones (not really.) If nothing else you will be motivating someone to do laundry more often than they ever have before, because when you have socks bearing a Brussels Griffon, you do not wait three weeks to wear them again — it doesn’t matter how busy you are.
