A Photographer Has a New Twist on New York Fashion Week: Dog Models

Share
A dalmatian, one of the most fashionable dog models, confidently struts down the runway in a stunning dress and high heels.

Having spent 12 years in the fashion industry as a photographer, Chantal Adair was looking to try something new for this year’s New York Fashion Week. So, instead of taking pics of just supermodels strutting down the catwalk, Adair decided to snap dogs donning the latest trends. And not just any dogs. Adair was able to snag the cream of the crop, including Toast Meets World, Menswear Dog, Pica the Pom, Tinkerbelle the Dog, Wally the Welsh Corgi, along with some up-and-comers like Minidalmaddy and Zoey Blitz.

While dogs may not necessarily know how to strike a pose as seamlessly as the industry vets walking in the shows, they did love the attention. Adair tells us she had to continually remind them “how beautiful they are and massage them.”

Adair is hoping this project goes beyond fashion week, with plans of turning the photo series into a book. In the meantime, here are a few of our favorites. To see all the pictures (and more to come), you can check out her Instagram account.
