Last week was National Dog Week (Sept. 19-25) and dogs around the world were given extra pats on the head, spoiled with treats and provided with an extra douse of love.
That’s all great but doesn’t compare to one dog’s VIP treatment. Marnie the Dog, the beloved senior dog with 2 million Instagram followers, recently moved to Los Angeles from New York City and got hooked up with a stay in a luxurious $5,000-a-night mansion from Airbnb.

The Beverly Hills mansion sprawl included eight bedrooms in the three-story home. The pad had carpeted hallways, a huge lawn (lots of sniffing opportunities!) and a poolside lounge area for her to soak up the rays.
Marnie’s hosts, Teddy the Dog and Hugo the Butler, were on hand to welcome her to the neighborhood.
Marnie’s stay, in coinciding with National Dog Week, was a way for Airbnb to highlight the number of pet-friendly rentals they have in their database. According to the company, there are 600,000 listings worldwide that allow pets, with Italy leading the charge with the 110,000 Airbnb rentals. U.S. came in second with 92,000, with West Virginia being the most pet-friendly state (about 40 percent welcome pets) and Ocean Spring, Mississippi being the most-friendly city.
