Genius Figures Out Age-Old Problem: How to Get a Dog to Stay Still for a Selfie

A new Kickstarter project may finally allow dog owners to snap pics of their dogs – and not have it be a huge blur.

Called the “Poochie Selfie” the gadget is quite simple: Owners attach a tennis ball to a phone, causing the dog to focus on his favorite toy and then snap the picture. For the pups that need a little bit more help, owners can remove the ball, give it a squeak, which should help get your dog’s focus back to the camera.

Obviously a lot of things have to fall into place to make this work – your dog being a tennis ball nut and the ability to stand still. But for the demographic that does fall into this category, the Poochie Selfie may be just what you need.

To use it, just clip on the attachment, stick a ball in it and snap away. The contraption can be used for both Android and Apple phones.

To date, the Kickstarter campaign has raised nearly $1,600 with a goal of $7,000. There are 24 days left. For the early birds, the cost is between $7 and $10 (depending on when the person pledges). Otherwise, the retail price is $13.

Here is video of the gadget in action.
