A photo that both tugs at your heartstrings and makes you smile has gone viral.
On aggregator website Reddit, user Justin Grosjean of Michigan posted a picture of his dog Luna with a bunch of shoes around her.
“When I leave the house my dog takes one of my shoes and lays with it (she never chews them),” he writes. It is a kind of comfort mechanism for his dog.

“Well, this weekend my wife and kids were out of town and I went to Home Depot for 30 minutes and came home to this,” he continued. “I think she panicked and thought we all left. Broke my heart.”
As you can see from the photo, Luna was more than happy when her dad returned (as shown by her wagging tail).
Grosjean adds in a comment about his devotion to Luna, who, at only 3 years old, has immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, a condition where the body turns on itself and attacks its own red blood cells.
“She’s my best friend! I love this dog more than I’ll ever be able to express. She almost died from IMHA and I spent a year and more money than I thought [possible] nursing her back to health. I don’t think I’ll ever bond with a dog quite like I have with her.”
