For many dogs, today they get to hang with mom and dad in celebration of “Take Your Dog to Work Day.”
Shouldn’t this be every day? It has been found that dogs brought to work not only reduce stress hormones but also having a pet in the workplace not only increases productivity as employees are willing to work longer hours but also reduces employee absenteeism.
The holiday was created in 1999 by Pet Sitters International and has become a bit of a phenomenon. What started as 300 participating business has increased to many more and owners all across the globe are not shy about showing off their dogs at work.
