While the Oscars, Golden Globes and SAG Awards are all about recognizing top talent, an upcoming award show is all about giving high-fives to dogs.
The World Dog Awards will honor some of the most commendable dogs on earth, including those that have made an impact in film, TV and on social.
Hosted by George Lopez and filmed at the fittingly named Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, the show will air on Jan. 14 at 7 pm PT/ 8 pm ET. Viewers have until the end of the day to cast their vote for dogs and stories they would like to see win in various categories.
Some of the categories include “Best Dressed Dog,” “Top TV Dog,” “Best Rescue” and “Performing Pups.” A few of the dogs and stories we have covered are up for the coveted winning prize: The fire hydrant plaque. In the “Pawpular” category, which focuses on dogs with the most influential social-media presence, Marnie the Dog, Tuna Melts My Heart and Toast Meets World, among others have been nominated. Pumpkin the Raccoon is up for “Most Dog-Like Animal,” Menswear Dog is in the “Dog of the Year” category and Olivia Munn and her dog Chance received recognition in the “Celebrity Dog Selfie” group.
To cast your vote, head over to the CW page. You have until 11:59 pm PT today.
