Looking to reinvigorate its brand, MailChimp rolled out a number of films, including one that combines kale and dogs.
Called “KaleLimp,” the ad opens with a waiter writing down on a piece of paper, “Kale Limp.” The next scene, shows a dog covered in kale, rather than fur, trouncing around a pool, before taking a deep dive into the water to wash off his vegetable coat.

Watching him is a French bulldog, poodle and puppy, also adorned in greens. In the end the kale dog, shakes off from the pool, sending one of his kale leaves across the room to land on a restaurant plate, only to be delivered to a couple on a date.
KaleLimp, along with two other one-minute films, JailBlimp and MailShrimp, is a new campaign by MailChimp called “Did You Mean?” to showcase/highlight how often its name is mispronounced. Created by Riff Raff Films and The Sacred Egg, the campaign wants people to see MailChimp as a “beacon for not blending in.”
