Dubai knows how to do it up. And now it has what is being reported as the biggest indoor dog (and cat) resort in the world.
Called My Second Home, it is completely funded by Sanjiv Dihman, an expat entrepreneur. Dihman saw a market for foreigners looking for a luxury place to bring their dogs, as the city has many restrictions of where dogs can be play and the heat prevents people from enjoying the outdoors.
The facility sits on more than 19,000 square feet (approximately the same size of 18 tennis courts) and comes equipped with 100 luxury rooms and 12 top-notch suites that are outfitted with flat-screen TVs and orthopedic beds.

The rates range from AED125, or approximately $35, for a dormitory-style room shared by up to four dogs to AED500, or about $135, for a “family room.” Other options include “little gem chalet” for puppies, “presidential suite” and “royal suite.” Owners can choose to customize the suites to their pets’ liking and request on-call concierge service. Dog parents also never have to worry about their dogs, as My Second Home has 24/7 surveillance and webcams.
Other amenities include an indoor swimming pool, agility area, doggy daycare center, first-aid area and a supermarket to stock up on food, supplies and toys. Nutritionists and trainers are also on hand to provide advice.
The team will be adding other features including an outdoor swimming pool and a beauty salon called Groomingdale’s Pampering Parlour.
