The Mark Miller Gallery is taking it to the dogs.
Well, and the cats, too. For a limited time, Manhattan’s Lower East Side gallery located on 92 Orchard St. is hosting an exhibit called DOGS & CATS: 21 Artists Unleashed and on the Prowl, with some of the proceeds going to the Humane Society of New York.
Described as “diverse in style but united by a common theme” the exhibit highlights 21 artists with 47 works of art shown on two floors.

“My co-curator, Leslie Lalehzar, and I are both animal lovers and we both had made dog pieces in the past. We wanted to do an exhibition that would not only pay homage to dogs and cats but would show what a group of diverse artists could do with the theme,” says curator Nancy Grimes.
Owner Mark Miller told us that animals are a passion area of his, as he has been involved in several animal rescue situations. And this love, he brought to the gallery.
DOGS & CATS: 21 Artists Unleashed and on the Prowl was its first pet-friendly opening, where Miller encouraged attendees to bring their four-legged friends to the show and offered water and treats for them throughout the show. The gallery is donating 10 percent of all sales from the exhibition to The Humane Society of New York (which brought adoptable dogs to the reception.)

The exhibit will end on May 3, so hurry up and head down there with your pup.
