Dogs’ names are definitely a unique part of our pup’s identity. They come from our heart, show their personality and provide a sense of individuality for our pooches.

But while your dog’s name may hold a special place in your heart, is it one that resonates with others? Rover.com, the pet-sitter and dog-walker network just revealed its annual top dog name report for 2018.

And while the top dog names didn’t change that much from last year, the names that are on the rise did.

For girl dogs, Bella again was the top name, followed by Lucy and Luna, which beat out last year’s third place name, Daisy. This year, Sophie made the top 10 list, pushing Stella out of it.

“Nine out of ten pet parents consider their dogs full-fledged members of the family. They’re not just pets, but part of the family we choose,” said Halle Hutchison, vice president of marketing for Rover, said in a statement. “Our dogs and what we choose to call them is part of our self-expression, which is why people name their pets after the things they love and admire, from pop culture icons to superheroes.”

Dog owners also fawned over the royal family, with the name Harry up 133 percent and Meghan up 129 percent.

Foodie pet parents also made their mark. About 5 percent of dog names had a food focus, including brunch item-names like Biscuit, Muffin and Waffles increasing by 12 percent.
