Just like thousands of others, Syrian Aslan is one of the latest refugees needing to leave his war-torn country, as fighting continues. But unlike many others forced to give up their beloved pets, Aslan wouldn’t leave the country without his dog Rose.
Despite people telling Aslan he couldn’t bring a dog, the tiny husky-like pup joined the 17-year-old, as he walks more than 300 miles, travels by boat across the Mediterranean Sea and arrives at his final destination on the Greek island of Lesvos. The Syrian even provided a dog passport for his pup.

We hope that Aslan, his dog and many other refugees are finally able to feel safe. Here is a video of him from UN High Commission for Refugees.
