The mega dog walk “Strut Your Mutt” is coming to New York City with plans to raise a lot of money for local shelters.

Put on by animal Best Friends Animal Society, the Oct. 1 event is expected to have thousands of animal lovers walking with their pup in support of an animal cause of their choosing.

Registration is at 9 am with the walk beginning at 10 am. Strut Your Mutt will kick off at Hudson River Park’s Pier 26 and wind its way around the city, ending back where it started. People will have the option to walk the one-mile or two-mile route.

Strut Your Mutt will not only have the big walk but will also include a ton of events.

Throughout the day there will be games including bean bag toss, Simon Says and hula hoop jump. There will also be tent activities, like reiki (healing energy technique), ask-a-trainer and pawdicures.

For the kiddos, there will be plenty for them to do, too. The event will have a dog-biscuit decorating table, make your own dog ears, face painting and more.

There will also be scheduled events, like downward dog yoga, doggie races and doggie musical chairs.

Plus, there will be a ton of shopping. More than 30 vendors will be on hand, including Rescue Chocolate, PAWZ Dog Boots and Metro Pets NYC.
