Thanksgiving is a time to gather with friends and family, enjoy each other’s company and give thanks to those in your life, dogs included.

Our furry friends make our lives better in countless ways — from their undeniable loyalty to their unconditional love.  To celebrate this holiday season (and every other day of the year), we asked owners of seven famous dogs why they are thankful for the pups in their lives.

Here is what they told us:

1. They are instant mood lifters.

I’m thankful for Chloe’s (ChloetheMiniFrenchie) ability to spread joy. Her cute little face and funny expressions can turn a bad day around in seconds. She also has the best personality and always wants to play or cuddle.

2. They encourage us to have a purpose.

I am so thankful that Chloe (@ChloeKardoggian) brings love and smiles to me and countless others every day.

I’m also thankful that her life has helped save the lives of dogs in need all over the world. Chloe reminds me every day that you’re never too old to find your purpose, or your forever family.

— Chloe’s mom, Dorie Herman

3. They remind us to cherish each moment.

Bodhi (@MenswearDog) reminds us every day that the moment we have is short and beautiful and must be lived to the fullest. He teaches us to say hello to strangers, breathe the air and to always let friends and family know that we love them. He’s the best naughty, life-loving, shirt-wearing, furry son, and he gives us endless reasons to feel thankful.

— Bodhi’s parents, Yena Kim and David Fung

4. They bring joy to our lives and others.

Tuna (@TunaMeltsMyHeart) brings me absolute joy on a daily basis, because of his endearing personality and his unpredictable expressions! I love that I am able to wake up to a quirky grin and multiple neck folds, and I immediately burst out in laughter. It’s a great way to start my day!

He has also redefined my purpose in a lot of ways. Not only does he bring me a ton of joy and laughter, but I am grateful that we have been given an opportunity through his social platforms to be a catalyst to change someone else’s day and bring them joy as well!

5. They complete us.

I am thankful that Tinkerbelle (@TinkerbelletheDog) brings joy to not only myself but to people of all ages. She has a special personality that sparks happiness in others.

I am thankful she is successful in the entertainment business as that is where my passion is as well. Tinkerbelle makes my life complete, and I am thankful for her every day.

— Tinkerbelle’s mom, Sam Carrell

6. They are happy with the small things in life.

We are thankful for the simple fact that we can come home to Winston’s (@WinstontheWhiteCorgi) cheerful face everyday. He naturally lifts everyone’s spirits and brightens up any room he walks into. And all he genuinely wants to do is to spend time with us. We are thankful that even after experiencing hardships, Winston remains fearless, adventurous and kind to all those around him.

— Winston’s mom, Tina Kim

7. They make relationships stronger.

We are thankful to Cookie (@ps.ny), who has filled our life with joy, laughter and unconditional love. Because of him, we created an Instagram account which became a special project that brings joy to so many and has made our family’s connection to each other even stronger.

— Cookie’s mom, Olia Saunders
