When reportedly two people moved, they took their couch AND dog to the curb.
Neighbors in the Phoenix neighborhood were so appalled (who wouldn’t be?), someone took a pictures of this unthinkable act and posted the images of the deserted dog on the couch on Facebook. The story caught on and went viral.
After hearing complaints and seeing the photos, Maricopa’s County Animal Care & Control stepped in and rescued the dog. The 3-year-old pit bull mix, now named Brownie, is currently residing at the Arizona Humane Society, while Phoenix police are investigating a potential cruelty case.

While Brownie was initially traumatized by the situation and new environment, the dog has warmed up to workers and now is wagging her tail and taking treats.
Because of all the attention, this little girl has her fair of suitors waiting to adopt her.
“We’ve been inundated with calls, people, rescue groups, people that want to step up and help,” Melissa Gable with animal control told ABC 15.
