With a lot of focus on the environment these days, a dog fashion show is putting a limelight on this hot-button issue.
The annual New York Pet Fashion Show’s theme this year is “Global Couture” to highlight “world fashion to save our animals and honor our planet.”
Held in the Penn Top Ballroom at Hotel Pennsylvania in Manhattan, the show will have dogs strutting their stuff down the runway from designers all around the globe, including Italy, Thailand and Egypt.
The event kicks off at 6 pm with the red carpet, followed by the first fashion segment. An awards ceremony acts as an intermission before the second act of the fashion show begins.
Some of those honored include vet of the year and journalist award.
The last part of the fashion show, the third act, is called “Broadway Presents” and will feature dogs dressed as famous shows, including Hamilton, Lion King, Wicked, Cats and Kinky Boots.
Put on by TropiClean, the event will be emceed by celebrity pet expert Harrison Forbes. Other guests include Rachel Grant from Die Another Day, Naomie Olindo from Bravo’s Southern Charm and actress Katie Cleary, among others.
Proceeds from the show will go towards New York City’s Mayor’s Alliance, a group made up of 150 local animal rescues.
The cost of a ticket is $50 and $60 at the door. Besides access to all the shows, the price includes food.
With attendance expected to be more than 700, head over to New York Pet Fashion Show to grab your ticket.
