Animal Haven is looking to make an even bigger impact on the animal community by opening up a new facility, providing amenities to improve environment for the homeless animals.
On Wednesday, June 8, the nonprofit is holding its “Pet Me: Shelter Opening Celebration” at its new facility located at 200 Centre Street in Manhattan, two blocks south of its current spot.

The event will consist of both a VIP reception, including a red carpet where celeb animal lovers like Jon Stewart, supermodel Carolyn Murphy and Nicky Hilton Rothschild will make an appearance, along with a party for everyone to usher in the facility.
Guests will enjoy beer from Strong Rope Brewery and hors d’oeuvres, have the opportunity to get their photo taken by famous photographer The Dogist and hang with celeb dogs Marnie the Dog and Chloe Kardoggian.
There will also be a silent auction, including luxury handbags, pet sitting certificate and a stay at an East Hampton cottage.
And of course, Animal Haven will also have a “Pet Me” lounge where people can meet some dogs looking for their forever home.

All festivities are focused on making the new shelter a success, with the facility’s goals to help curb diseases, noise and odors, while increasing public engagement.
The 6,500-foot space will be split into two levels, along with a mezzanine. There will be the same amount of animals at the current facility — 35 cats and 35 dogs – but the new location will take advantage of an innovative air-circulation system, improved design and an education room for volunteer orientations and its Caring Kids program, an initiative focused on educating children about the importance of treating animals with kindness.
To get your tickets, head over to the Animal Haven website. The party will not be at the Animal Haven facility but down the street at NOMO at 9 Crosby Street from 7 to 10 pm.
