George and Amal Clooney stepped up to help a cocker spaniel rescue organization in need of funds to help neglected dogs.
Camp Cocker Rescue of Sherman Oaks, California, saved nine cocker spaniels from a backyard breeder situation after the dogs were dumped in a rural desert town. Having never been to the vet before, the medical bills for these dogs were high. Cherry eye, mastectomy, lab work and spay and neuter services were just a few issues the pups faced.
George, who rescued both of his dogs from the organization, caught wind of Camp Cocker Rescue’s predicament. He, along with Amal, donated $10,000 and allowed the rescue group let the world know.

“After we all did happy dances and cried with happiness for this unbelievable matching donation offer — we then asked the donors if (and only if they gave us their permission) … if we could reveal their names to our supporters in order to help us reach our big goal this month,” Camp Cocker Rescue wrote in a Facebook post. “We want to thank George and Amal Clooney for their unbelievable donation and now it’s time to turn to all of YOU to see if you can match it!!!!”
This isn’t the first time the couple have helped out pups. Besides rescuing his two dogs, Einstein and Louie, the couple also saved a basset hound from a California rescue named Millie. And Christmas of 2015, George gave his parents a terrier mix named Nate from Ohio-based organization LuvFurMutts.
