Famed director Wes Anderson is taking it to the dogs in his upcoming movie — and you can be part of it.

He unveiled his upcoming movie Isle of Dogs, a stop-motion animated movie about dogs living on an island, this week.

Anderson has teamed up with crowdfunding platform CrowdRise to give fans the opportunity to voice a dog in the movie. For $10 you can enter the raffle and have a chance to win several prizes, with the grand one being a trip to London to tour the Isle of Dogs set, meet Anderson and do the voice over (some barking, howling and whimpering may be involved, the contest warns).

All proceeds will go towards Film Foundation, an organization founded by Martin Scorsese that restores and preserves old films. “Movies don’t last forever,” Anderson says in clip. “Sometimes they have to be brought back from the dead.”

For those who want to know what they are getting into when they enter the raffle, they’ll have to trust Anderson. The director provides a super short snippet of Isle of Dogs, with the dog voiced by actor Edward Norton, just popping up on the side of the screen.

Hopefully the dogs in the movie will have happier endings than pups in other Anderson films.  In Moonrise Kingdom, Snoopy, a wire-hair fox terrier, is the sole fatality after he gets shot with an arrow. Owen Wilson’s character in The Royal Tenenbaums ends up crashing his car into the Tenenbaums’ home, killing the family beagle, Buckley. In Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Cody a three-legged Labrador abandoned by pirates, gets hit with a newspaper by Jeff Goldblum’s character. And in Fantastic Mr Fox Mr Fox poisons a dog named Spitz with laced blueberries.

While it may appear Anderson is a dog hater, some critics believe it is just the director’s way of depicting some common themes in life. Some believe he is showing that dogs represent innocence, a balance to the evil in world. Others believe the story lines signify the fact that bad things can happen to anyone, anytime – even a dog.

Other actors in the film include Bryan Cranston, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum, Scarlett Johansson and Yoko Ono, among others. A release date hasn’t been set.
