Animal organization Mr. Bones & Co. is pulling out all the stops to make this year’s Rescue the Runway its biggest yet.
Co-hosted by comedian Whitney Cummings (2 Broke Girls, Whitney), the interactive event will not only honor rescue dogs but also local heroes.
Occurring on May 13, the event will be held at Berg’n, a beer hall in Brooklyn, where there will be plenty of beer and wine for guests to enjoy. There will also be food there, including Dub Pies, Landhaus, Lumpia Shack and Mighty Quinn’s BBQ.

The main event, the dog runway show, begins at 3 pm. Adoptable dogs from Mr. Bones & Co., along with other rescue organizations — Animal Haven, Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue,Rebound Hounds and SPCA Westchester — will be strutting their stuff down the runway, hoping to catch the eye of a potential adopter. Escorting these pups will be “hometown heroes,” our fireman, police officers, vets and EMTs.
Bethany Watson, co-host of Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, will be honored.
“Bethany has been a close friend and supporter of Mr. Bones & Co. since we launched in 2013 and has always gone above and beyond to spread the word about rescue and adoption, both on and off the air,” Marisa Grimshaw, Mr. Bones & Co. co-executive director, tells This Dog’s Life.

There will also be a silent auction featuring a number of great prizes, including private wine tastings, sailing lessons and luxury gift baskets. And of course the famous kissing booth, where pit bull pooches give smooches for a few bucks. Instagram celeb Chase (also known as SometimesCarl), Mr. Bones alum Lily and the organization’s most followed rescue of 2017, Tater Tot, a pit bull who nearly died three times in six weeks, will all be there.

The event begins at 2pm and goes until 5 pm. The address is 899 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, NY 11238. People can either buy a $75 general ticket ($25 of which is tax deductible) and receive two drink tickets, or a VIP ticket for $150, where guests can take advantage of an open bar, meet and greet, reserved seating for the show and a nice gift bag ($100 is tax deductible). All proceeds will go to the participating rescues. Tickets can be purchased here.
