To kick off the holiday season, Celebrity Catwalk is having a weekend-long rescue event.

Called “Paws in the City,” the event begins with a “yappy” hour on Dec. 4 at the Spot in Chelsea (145 West 20th Street). From 5 pm to 7 pm, guests, along with their four-legged friends, can enjoy cocktails, treats (for dogs, too!) and partake in a pet costume contest. The theme is “White Christmas” and the organizer is looking for the best interpretation of this iconic movie. The winner will receive a weekend at Paw House Inn, a historic dog-friendly inn in Vermont.

On Saturday, people and their pups can reconvene at Spot for a “Santa Paws” party from 11 am to 1:30 pm, where there will again be cocktails, treats and pet contests. There will actually be two contests with the themes: “Holiday Glamour” and “The 12 Days of Christmas.” The more intricate the interpretation, the better. There will also be the opportunity to shop, with more than 20 couture designers from around the globe.

The festivities conclude on Sunday with a big fashion show featuring approximately 40 adoptable dogs strutting down the catwalk with some high-profile folks including Linda Church and Lisa Mateo (WPIX11 News), Chrissy Monroe (VH1), Chantelle Fraser (Bravo) and Mike Ruiz (America’s Next Top Model and Rupaul’s Drag Race). Two dogs that will be making an appearance are Yeyush and Renzo, two pups that overcame abuse and neglect.

From 11 am to 1 pm is the reception and at 1 pm it is show time. The event is at the Spot located in the Silver Towers (42nd St, New York, NY, 10036).

Proceeds from all three days will go to Yorkie911Rescue and Zani’s Furry Friends. To attend all three events, the ticket price is $75 (to partake in the contests, it is an additional $20). Guests can also purchase tickets for individual days. To find out more, head to Celebrity Catwalk.
