Never say never.

A dog who had been lost for 10 years, finally was found and will be reunited with her family.

Erika Slovikoski was out with her dog Orion near Fort Funston in San Francisco when she heard an odd noise.

“I could hear an animal crying from the hillside.”,” she told ABC 7, even recording the sound on her phone.

When she went to investigate, she found a senior Pekinese without a collar on the side of a hill. Not able to get down, the dog was was distressed.

After people starting asking Slovikoski if this was her dog, she knew it would be up to her to help this pup out. When she couldn’t find the owner anywhere in the vicinity, she scooped the dog up and took her to San Francisco Animal Care and Control. Hoping the dog would find a happy ending, Slovikoski was shocked at what she discovered: a microchip in the Pekinese revealed she had been missing for 10 years.

“I was blown away. And I though the only way they knew it was her was the microchip,” she told the outlet.

Named Moo Shu, her mom was contacted and is ecstatic. While she is in New Zealand until Saturday, she will be reuniting with her dog when she gets back.
