Actress Anna Faris is in some deep doo doo with an animal rescue after her dog was picked up on the streets.
Faris adopted a dog named Pete four years ago from North Hollywood organization Kinder4Rescue. During the process, she signed a contract stating if she ever turned over her pup to another owner she would face a $5,000 fine. Well, that is exactly what happened.
Kinder4Rescue got a call from a vet last Friday stating they found one of their dogs on the street (identified through a microchip). The organization was quickly able to find out who the adopter was Faris.

Apparently, Faris and her husband had given the dog away, after finding a “nice family home” for Pete, according to TMZ. When the outlet reached out to the couple, sources close to them said they were out of the country but are making arrangements to bring the dog home. TMZ also reports Kinder4Rescue has tried to reach out to Faris, but she isn’t returning their calls.
Besides the $5,000 fine, Kinder4Rescue has added her to its do-not-adopt list. To get out of the fine, Faris must prove she has been actively looking for Pete.
The clause was in the contract to help keep track of Kinder4Rescue’s animals. Also, many rescues won’t even allow someone to give away their dog to anybody (remember Ellen?); they instead must return the animal to the rescue.

This isn’t the first time the couple has given away an animal. In 2011, Pratt posted a message on Twitter asking if anyone wanted the couple’s 15-year-old cat. He ended up giving it away to one of his followers.
Kinder4Rescue is also considering suing for breach of contract.
