A puppy earned her name Fifi, named after green princess Fiona in Shrek, after she was born with a green tint.
Elaine and Mark Cooper of Chorley, England, were by their 2-year-old Labrador’s side when she went into labor at midnight on Jan. 26, according to City Beat.

The mom dog welcomed five dogs: one girl and four boys. The girl puppy didn’t stand out just because of her gender but also because of her coat. She was born with a green-tinged coat.
“She came out in the sack so we thought that it was the placenta that made her look very dark. We thought she was a black Labrador,” Elaine told the outlet.
“But when Milly started to lick the placenta off she actually had a green tinge. We were laughing and saying no, this can’t be green. All the others are golden and this one’s green.”

It is believed that the dog’s green tinge is because of Biliverdin, a green bile found in the placenta. Very rarely, it can stain a puppy’s coat when mixed with the fluid that protects the puppy.
According to Elaine, after doing research, she only found two other dogs where this has happened.
Fortunately, for Fifi, her green coat is just temporary, and has already started to fade — and is doing great.
