A Mastiff Found Abandoned in New York City Woods Takes First Steps

Share

A mastiff puppy that was found abandoned in the woods in Harlem in New York City and unable to walk just took her first unassisted steps.

New York Bully Crew, the group that is caring for her, posted a video on Instagram showing the dog now named Jesse taking a few steps in the woods before she took a little spill. But this is progress! A week before the pup was only able to balance on all four legs without any help.

The dog was found in mid-April in the woods of Harlem with a chopped off tail and couldn’t walk without the help of a special harness, according to NBC 4 New York.

The group has taken the dog to the vet and neurologist to determine the cause of her condition but still doesn’t have answers. There is a fund set up for Jesse to help with her progress. The group has taken the dog to therapy pool sessions, acupuncture treatments and other physical therapy sessions. Here is a video capturing Jesse’s progress.
