Regardless if you’re a camper or glamper, being among nature has its health benefits, such as increased physical activity, improved mood and a good night’s rest. And with your canine companion right beside you, what more could you really ask for?

It can be difficult finding campgrounds that are not only dog-friendly, but also open during this uncertain period. We’ve compiled a list of 15 campgrounds throughout the country where you and your dog are bound to have a blast. 

1. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort

At Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, there’s 73 acres of fun for the entire family. 

The campground has an abundance of activities: miniature golf, laser tag, hiking paths, seasonal events, gem mining, ziplining and fishing. Plus, it’s close to the Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park in case you’d like to do some more exploring!

At Jellystone Park, your dog can exercise and socialize at their fenced-in bark park. The park has several toys and obstacles available for your dog to have some tail-wagging fun! 

Your pup can accompany you while walking around the camp as long as he’s on a leash. Jellystone Park also requires that you bring a crate for your pup.

Grand Canyon RV Camping is all about merging camping and comfort. You get a high-end hotel sleeping arrangement with the camping experience you and your pup are looking for.

At the campground, you can cook s’mores, barbecue, or spend time playing outdoor games and hanging out at the clubhouse. 

Hungry? Indulge in a meal at Anna’s Canyon Cafe a mile away, where they have menus for you and your dog! For even more fun, you and your pup can drive through Bearizona Wildlife Park and admire wolves, bears, bison and mountain goats all in the comfort of your car!

3. 4 Paws Kingdom Campground

Want to go somewhere your dog will feel like absolute royalty? Look no further! 

4 Paws Kingdom Campground is the first of its kind as the only dog-dedicated campground in the country. They prioritize creating “a true doggie kingdom” that pups and humans will love.

Together, you and your fur baby can explore the Blue Ridge Mountains, play fetch in a creek, relax by the campfire and enjoy 4 Paws’ weekend events.

The campground has eight spacious dog parks, some of which include their Small Dog Playground, Tiny Tot Park, The Big Yard, Private Escape, off-leash play park and agility park.

4. Kamp Klamath RV Park and Campground

Kamp Klamath RV Park knows pets are family, so they’ve made sure your pup can tag along for the ride and have just as much as fun when they visit! In fact, they’re so dog-friendly that their mascot, Shadow, encourages all dogs via website to bring their humans and keep them on a leash or line at all times within the camping area. 

This campground has everything from the ocean, rivers, forests and beaches to dining, shopping and entertainment to choose from. People and puppies alike can soak up the sun in 33 acres of park, trails and river banks. If your dog is well-trained, he can freely roam these areas off-leash.

If you’re looking for a peaceful camping experience, Wanderlust Crossings RV Park is the place to go. This campground was established in 2017 and is known for being quiet, immaculate and simply beautiful.

They provide leisure and entertainment amenities, such as a TV lounge, a playground, a recreational room, koi ponds and of course, dog runs! They also have a dog groomer onsite to keep your pup fresh and clean, along with a self-washing station.

6. Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground

Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground is glamping at its finest. This ravishing resort believes in truly pampering your dogs; so much so that they have treats, leashes and toys at the front desk! 

After you take a dip in the pool or play a game of bocce, you can take your pup to get her exercise in at the off-leash dog park. The large space is perfect for zoomies!

If you’d like to feed ostriches and emus at the famous Central Coast landmark, OstrichLand USA, your pup can accompany you on a guided tour located just a mile away.

7. Lake George RV Park

Lake George RV Park is a must-visit for pups and their parents. This paradise of a park has so much to do and so much available that you may not have to ever leave the campsite during your stay. You can hike along the Adirondack Mountain trails, bike three miles of trails, go fishing and paddle boating and ride the trolley to shopping centers.

Although, one of the best amenities is Charlie’s Bark Park, a 2-acre park of off-leash fun for your pup that’s open daily from dawn to dusk. The campground features a synthetic turf play area, a pet vending area, agility equipment, areas designed for small and large dogs and shaded walking trails! 

You can keep your dog cool with the spray fountain splash pad and wash your dog’s day away at the indoor dog wash station.

You can trek along the nature trail, go for a swim in the pool, listen to live music and enjoy family activities on the weekend. They have a spacious dog run and fenced-in dog park for your fur baby to burn off some energy. It doesn’t stop there though, as they also have laundry and bath facilities for dogs!

Want to tour what is known as the nation’s oldest city? Get your dog ready to travel just 15 minutes away to historic downtown attractions, Anastasia State Park and the beach.
